Medical Cards & GP Visit Cards at Dunloe Medical Practice
Dunloe Medical Practice is currently accepting patients with Medical Cards, GP Visit Cards, and Under 8s / Over 70s GP Care Cards.
What is a Medical Card?
A Medical Card entitles you to free GP visits, prescribed medications, hospital care, and other health services. It is means-tested and administered by the HSE. If you hold a Medical Card, you can register with Dunloe Medical Practice and attend all GP appointments at no charge.
What is a GP Visit Card?
A GP Visit Card covers the cost of GP visits only. Unlike the full Medical Card, it does not cover medication or hospital charges. It is available to individuals and families who meet income thresholds set by the HSE.
Under 8s and Over 70s Free GP Care
All children under 6 and adults aged 70 and over are entitled to a free GP Visit Card, regardless of income. You can apply at any time and register with Dunloe Medical Practice once your card is issued.
How to Apply
You can apply for a Medical Card or GP Visit Card online through the HSE website at mymedicalcard.ie, by phone on 1800 11 4114 (LoCall).If you need help with your application, Karina at reception can guide you through the process .
Change of Doctor
If you decide to change from another GP to Dr Daly's medical card list this paperwork can be completed in the practice and we manage the process from there
How to Register with Dunloe Medical Practice
Once you have your Medical Card or GP Visit Card, simply call the practice on 064 665 2266 to register. We will need your PPS number, card details, and some basic personal information. You can also call in to the practice at 62 New Street, Killarney.
